Chelanga beat him by 33 seconds, and your point about how "he has trained for a long time somewhere else" because he is kenyan is wrong, he has only been running for 4 years, he played ping pong before that. Derrick ran 13:29 on the track for 5k, Sammy's split 5k on a xc course was 14:09! And then he preceded to run another 14:30. And just because Derrick has ran fast all year and beat Sam at pre-nats doesnt mean crap, Sammy just knows how to peak at the right time. Dont try to put Chelanga down, he ran one of the most amazing races i have ever seen run. He absolutely dominated Chris Derrick on monday.)

Barringer is a great talent, she's just terribly unattractive. If she was eye candy, like Sarah Bowman, she would probably be a media darling. Too bad--shame on you to our people in control of the American media! Hopefully, her talent will force our media to give her the wonderful credit she deserves, as she beat a top field of our so-called best American milers (e.g., Rowbury, Willard, etc.). Go, Jenny!!

d1 that is how the age thing works, wasn't talking about d 2, and grow the heck up, how does a 26 year old have an advantage if they have never been a competitive runner before in their life, grow up and train better, i forgot, she does have an advantage, she has a family so she isn't going out and partying every night like the younger girls are

Just wanted to clarify for Ks that I meant the fact that she did an interview at all was an indication that her body wasn't "shutting down." If you can kick at the end and then do an interview you did not just suffer from exhaustion to the point where you collapsed. I've known runners who really collapsed and they either couldn't get up or walked it in and went to the hospital.

First of all, if anyone listended to mcdouglas interview, Sammy ran his 10k record off 50 miles a week. I dont care how good derrick is now or how good he will be; sam chelenga is the better runner and will only lose to derrick when/if hes not 100% such as pre nats. Sam made the entire national field look like fools monday, that just shouldnt happen. Derrick was never the favorite, he simply beat the favorite on the favorites bad day, then idiots labled derrick as the new favorite. I knew this was going to happen without doubt.

I am shooting to try Navy Buds training I hate to be a jerk but they would not count any of those as a push up you have got to come all the way up no head dipping and you need to lock out the elbow's. The arched rest at 90 they would have told you to stop and stand up.

Uh, yea, McLaughlin didn't fall during this race. MikeyB, check the frames and listen to the interviews. She WAS one of the folks who had to run out to the side and semi-jump over the fallen runner. The fallen runner gets back up about 2 rows+ behind McLaughlin.
