It rained .7" on Tuesday. If dry forecasts hold up, there might be a couple puddles in the low spots.

I'm predicting the top 3 finishers will be Chelanga (1st), Derrick (2nd), Mead (3rd)...Puskedra and German Fernandez will fill out the top 5. If Chelanga has regained his form from last year, there is nobody in the field that can run with him, including the much improved Chris Derrick. Chelanga simply has too much Endurance and Speed for the others and he will win the NCAA Championship in his customary "runaway" style.

Just got done reading nice interview with Jeff Schirmer. I have been following Jeff since he was a junior in high school and am familiar with his story. I was pleased to watch his great race for 2nd place at regionals...and believe that he can achieve his dream of a top 10 finish at nationals. If not, then he will be very close... I will be there to help cheer him on. Not only is he a good runner...from SIUC...he is just another great example of the kind of running talent that comes out of the state of Illinois. There will be several of them at Terre Haute on Monday. Jeff didn't get around much in H.S., but he only lived about 15 minutes from me.....the whole area is proud of him! Too bad for Mohamed and the team finish. Run a great race for them. There will be a lot of people pulling for you on Monday. But, we gotta work on your diet, Don Kardong and Bill Rodgers would be proud of you! If you only knew who they were......

Awesome entry Nick. Your stream of conciousness writing is almost Keroac-esque! You did a fine job of capturing the broken thoughts we all have (though most of us are far behind you) pushing on after mile 20-something and at the finish. Congrats on the PR!
