Danm dude was soooo nasty at skiing, should have never quit. That sucks that he had to give it up for running. I'm basically in the same situation now. I used to be really good at rollerblading and I pretty much gave it up my senior year for running. My college cut track after I had committed and I'm debating between staying, just running cross, and skating again or transferring and just focusing on running. I think if this guy gave up skiing considering how good he was it's going to give me some inspiration on the running side. I guess that's just how it goes; no kid starts off wanting to be a runner, you have to learn to love it. Much respect Erik

All of us had encounter financial problem during this recession. The celebrity rags have been buzzing about the Nicholas Cage financial problems. It appears that his former business manager neglected to pay any of the taxes Cage would have owed, which was his charge, and mismanaged his investments and properties, to the point that Nicholas Cage broke from paying the IRS and creditors might be a possibility, or at least that's what is alleged by the lawsuit Cage filed. If this guy tried to pull a Bernie Madoff, then he not only deserves to pay Cage back every penny, but do some time in the clink. Seeing the Nicholas Cage financial problems story unfold makes one think about doing some credit repair for one's self.

Great interview. I have often thought about muscles on distance runners, I'm built like a 12yo, wich is sad :) Maybe a stupit question but will upperbody weightlifting help me in middle distance running? I would like the Peter Snell look, but maybe that's a bad idea

its amazing how fast this guy he is considering how big he is. he is easily one of the thickest runners around and that makes him so likable. you know, in an against all odds sort of way!

I agree... What about Western Oregon in the West region? Chris Reed has been running well all year and behind him they've got a good, tight pack... should at least be in the running...

You are creating the abiguity. No where does it say that the B standard is the repeat performance. There is no paticular order you have to make standards in, just make them in the qualifying period. Don't blame AC for an athletes failure to fully read the rules book...or if there is any question after reading, seek an answer from AC.
Nate, DID NOT READ the criteria or the rules book. |

The ambiguity came from the word "repeated", which has a very specific meaning in the context of the selection criteria. The implication from the wording is that he needed to hit an A-standard 1500m performance once and that the mile time would suffice only for satisfying the repeat performance criterion.
