i added a vid with the warm up area. it was pretty sweet, like a 550 meter two lane track underneath the stadium for the athletes to warmup

You and Mark and the entire Flotrack organization have built a solid, highly recognizable brand. The athletes know they need YOU!

And you're like the world class VO2max guy, so you shouldn't be too indimidated...even by Bekele.

oh shut up, you'll try to enjoy yourself. . screw you . . living the life. . knowing that every running nerd on this site is 100% jealous of you . . you are like known by all the people in the track and field world . . because although at times you may feel like you are annoying them or something, they all want you to talk to them, mainly because you are getting their name out there more than it already is, getting them free publicity . . it's awesome for them and for us . . live it up man. you are the man.

Fam talked about this group mentality of helping each other in the sport on his interview on FloTrack http://www.flotrack.org/videos/coverage/view_video/234884-2009-outdoor-season-on-flotrack/164565-fam-on-making-the-sport-better-2009-iaaf-world-championships and he delivered exactly on that ideology in his performance at USA's go Fam! Go USA! Go Running!

How many anonymous cowards are there? Sheesh!

Nike ain't perfect. Should we rally behind Adi Dassler instead? C'mon!
OTC is rockin'. Love 'em or hate 'em, they are the Bronx Bombers of our beloved sport.
Question: do OTC athletes have a swoosh on their unis?
forgive me for being judgemental, but Nike's sales creatures are the Desperate Housewives of Track (and Field)
Nike has parlayed the swoosh into large sums... but sports will never be free of carpetbaggers. Do we blame Phil? How about Senor Jordan for his $150 pair of air? Are any of you old enough to remember Lasse Viren's shameless display after his Olympic victory? What brand was he displaying? I don't even remember because I went out and bought some "waffle-stompers"
A mark, a yen, a buck or a pound.... it makes the world go around...
I'm so happy that "track (and field) is back" and my hat is off to Flotrack for helping make it so.

A higher percentage of Nike track athletes will test positive because a higher percentage of track athletes ARE sponsored by Nike. Its like saying More heart attacks happen in each year California than in Rhode Island so people must be much healthier in RI. No, CA has a much higher population.

From Todays "The Week That Was" on Letsrun "A few weeks ago, maybe during the Pre Classic, we were thinking, "My god where would track and field be without Nike?" In the dumpster is the correct answer. So kudos to them for sponsoring so many athletes"
Teg was not using a supposed illegal method. People flipped because the procedure sounds like blood doping, but they are in fact, not the same. He was open about his injury treatment and made sure he was not doing anything that was banned. He isnt an idiot. It was a medical treatment of an injury, not an abuse in order to increase athletic performance. Should we call foul on asthmetic kids in sports cause they are inhaling a steroid?

Not a stretch when 98% of all athletes who test positive for performance enhancing drugs come from Nike. Teg used a supposed illegal method injecting red blood cells into his knee this past year for injury. What TEAM doctor came up with that? Then there is Alberto Salazaar all the rest...

Evil empire is a bit much. Organizations need sponsors. Nike is a USATF sponsor and thus they are displayed on the website along with the other sponsors. Also, the USATF gear and uniforms will be produced by them. Just like how there is a McDonald’s in the Olympic Village when they are a sponsor. If you go to the USA Wrestling website you will see the same with there sponsor Asics. USA Gymnastics with gymnastics ect.

Regardless, I don’t see how that is relevant to the topic of teammates. If you try to make the connection that Nike sponsors some of these athletes, then you are really stretching, trying to find any forum to get up on your soapbox.

Nike is the Evil Empire who has USATF in their pocket. They just paid USATF big $ for "athlete grants" which leaves USATF in a bad postion unable to call Nike out on their bull antics or "grey" area coaches like Al Sal. They can't bite the hand that feeds. Nike paying blood money into the sport doesn't cover up their . Ends do not justify the means!

If you still can't see the truth go to USATF.org and look at the swoosh all over the damn place even on athlete bio pics.

You are ridiculous. Abdi was hurt this year and out of shape. He didnt belong at Worlds and he tried to drop people by pacing erratically. Nobody kicked off him, he fell back early. Ritz was the gutsy one if anything. He wasnt forced into the lead, oh..he is a Nike athlete too. Fam always goes out hard and leads at the beginning. He usually wolnt let people pass if they wanted to until he cant lead anymore. Bolota hardly led and is a Nike athlete also. He was behind Solinsky and Teg more than he was in front of them. Solinsky is known for taking the lead too soon and it costs him (Trials, anyone) and was trying an new strategy that worked.

Just ridiculous. Wanting to win when you are an athlete is hardly selfish and not motivated by corporations. As much as you can love to hate Nike because its so very anti-establishment of you, they provide tons of track athletes with sponsorships and they dont need to financially. If they stopped, the other shoe companies wouldn’t be able to pick up the slack and there would be a lot less sponsored runners. Does Nike hope to make money off of their investments? Yes, this is a capitalist society, they aren’t a charity.

Nike athletes sitting and kicking off guys like Abdi , Bolota, Fam etc who make these races honest is hardley teamwork. Their race tactics were cowardess and selfishly motivated by Nike looking to sweep and naming every event after themself.
