The things that makes Kara so special is her unbridled enthusiasm and the willingness to show it. The joy and excitement she showed at the World's and then again today as she shared her friend's qualifying for the Olympics is rare with professional athletes.

She is special.

Bob Hayes was a personal friend of mine he visited my home in Atlanta Georgia along with his wife or companion Quanita in 1998 and we talked about his career and the things that had transpired in his life. He seemed to be somewhat upset with the chain of events especially after his professional sports career. He'd turned to drinking quite a bit but I personally let him know that I would fight to make sure his proper place in sports history is preserved and given it's rightful place in the annals of sports history. I'm thankful that the Dallas Cowboys Football organization finally did the right thing by inducting him into their famed Ring of Honor because he deserved it and earned those rights. Now it's time for all those Floridians who came along after his fine sports example and make sure that the National Football League does the correct thing of inducting him into the pro-football Hame of Fame or it will continue being the Hame of Shame in my view.

Congradulation to Bolt and all his country men. I hope this performance will bring track and field into the fore front of sports

I remember Steve Williams as someone with a similar style though obviously Bolt is much, much faster. But to watch him gain speed over the race is totally awesome to watch.

Micael Johnson was a well respected ex-athlete until he start making illadvised coments about currently performing athletes. Michael revealed his true character and will be forced to sit and watch as Usain Bolt wipe out his 200 and 400m world records. It is truly unusal that ageing sprinters would degrade the efforts of people in the sport especially knowing the dedication and sacrafice required to perform.Whether you like it or not Michael Usian is coming.

I think you are clueless as to Michael's modus operandi, go to the IAAF page and read the transcript of his chat and you will see how he thinks. Tyson and others were quick to congratulate Bolt-there is always this American Vs Jamaican rangling in athletics. Jamaica is a smaller a country and so the fight does not even make sense, they will not achieve the level of success like America, but you must admit it when you see it, there are indeed "pockets of greatness" emmanating from that country that is far smaller than the US. Going back to the early 50's and you will see the history of greatness and good sports rivalry between Jamaica and the US.

I must commend Usain for shutting the mouth of Michael Johnson. I think by now he should be quiet and wonder if the 4 X 100 record might not fall if the team is healthy in Beijing, given the fact the new world record holder and the former record holder is from the same country. I would not consider Michael to be stupid, but a misinformed newspersons who feels that many of us cannot think. If he did his homework he would have seen that Bolt unlike Asafa was a gifted athlete from way back, Asafa blossomed at the College level, not so with Bolt he had great success at the Junior level and only Bolt can do damage to himself which he did about two years ago. He seems serious now and I feel if he is healthy it might be the first time in history that you will see 1-2 from another country than America. And Michael, it was done before Hasley Crawford and Don Quarrie-both from the Caribbean, it was almost and American shutout.
