I was at the finish ... Flynn and Kosgei..broke away early...Flynn had a 10 meter lead coming tinot the final 500 meters and he pulled away.... Peter's legs just went at that point, the chase pack lead by the runner form Northeastern passed him and then he just started to sway back and forth, I watched around 20 runners pass him on the straight away, I then turned away and I found out later he finished in the 40's...

Watching NCAA XC from Europe
created 10 hours ago by Chris Kurth
Hey!

I'm sitting over here in Münster, Germany, downright excited with no opportunity to watch it live. So....
Can anyone help me out and tell me how and where I can watch Versus online?
Take this opportunity NOW, because it's never been that easy to make a German happy!
Cheers!

Peter Kosgei ran with the flu and was really hurting at the end of the race. Here's what Hamilton coach Brett Hull told me:

"Peter has the heart of a champion and chose to run and defend his title where many would have not run at all. I can assure you he did not give up. He stated that with about a half mile to go his legs just would not go any faster and his head was pounding. He spent the next 45 minutes in the medical tent with the doctor for he was too weak to stand. While we would have loved for him to pull it off, we are proud of his efforts and he will come back from this stronger than before. Also, Ricky Flynn ran a great race and earned the win."

I talked to Ricky Flynn after the race and he said he rigged up really bad on a tough hill with a about 800 m to Ricky said he caught him with about 500 m to go. He must have faded really hard after that to finish 43rd

Yeah, it looks like she bonked bigtime in trying to match Pixler's surge up the hill at 4K.

Someone said she wasn't hurt or sick, just hit a wall at 4k and fell off Pixler's heels. Pixler said something similar. Maybe she overextended herself in trying to stay with Pixler.

I saw Kosgei at Geneseo last week and he looked to be jogging the last mile while maintaining clear superiority tover the chase pack and Dan Ramsay (#4 today). In the blurb on the BW site, the winner says Kosgei faded, but only in the last mile. I guess that rules out a pile-up. We still don't know why.

LIVE Kolas DELAYED.....coming soon
created November 14 at 5:09pm by Ryan From Flotrack
Still wrong on last 3-4 teams.

Iowa does not push Southern Illinois in. Ohio State beat Iowa head to head, they both have 2 points. Then Iowa can't go until Ohio State.
But Duke has two points, and wins common opponents over Ohio State. So OSU can't go until Duke goes. Duke gets in next, then Virginia! Then Ohio State for the last spot.
And it's clearly wrong because UVA would push Duke in next anyway.

NCAA Conference Championship Central | (All Conference RESULTS)

Big Ten Men's Results | Women's Results - Wisconsin finally shows some flare winning the title with a dominating 26 points!  They were led by a young crew up front with sopre Elliot Krause in 2nd and two frosh in the top 5 (Darling & Ahmed).  Hassan Mead comes off a sub-par PreNats to win the individual race.  Ohio State battles Minnesota in a close battle for second, 91-97.  On the women's side, World Champ steepler Bridget Franek takes down a great field in Illini's Bizzarri (2nd) and Minnesota's Duwell (3rd).  Franek leads the Nittany Lions to the Big Ten Championship in a close battle again with Illinois and Minnesota as only 9 points separated the three teams, 71-77-80.

SEC | Men's Results | Women's Results - The Florida women continue their tear this season waxing the weak field 24-80 (Tennessee was runner up).  UF had a 1-2 punch in Rebecca Lowe and Charlotte Browning while the rest of the 5 scorers finished in the top 9.  On the men's side, Alabama was as dominate as expected, Arkansas surprises with a near win, and Auburn has a real strong top 3 (scores: 56-61-86). The race was won Ole Miss' Barnabas Kirui who had 9 seconds over US World Champ member Dorian Ulrey.  Ark frosh Solomon Haile seems to be coming around finishing 9th (first SEC frosh).

Big 12 Men's Results | Women's Results - Texas Texas Wins and German is 4th!  The Texas Tech women pack 5 in the top 13 to win the Big 12 title over CU.  Jenny B wins by a comfortable 46 seconds while frosh teammate Allie McLaughlin is 2nd in front of ISU's Lisa Koll!  On the men's side, Oklahoma State took the top 4 spots led by individual champ Ryan Vail.  Fernandez is 7 seconds back in fourth.  OK State 24-56 over the Buffs, but 5th man Mecheso is a distance 14th....has to be closer for a shot at the NCAA title!

Big East | Men's Results | Women's Results - Syracuse men win by 5 points over Georgetown, 5 teams score between 55-97 points.  Corey Thorne of Louisville wins over Villanova's frosh Mathew Mildenhall and Georgetown's Bumbalough (3rd).  Villanova dominates the women's race winning 30-74 over a good West Virginia team.  Led by soph and individual champ Sheila Reid, Nova takes 3 of the top 4 spots which was broken up by Georgetown soph Emily Infeld.  All five Villanova runners finished in the top 12.

ACC | Men's Results | Women's Results - Men's race is a battle, but somehow NC State's great Rollie Geiger finds a way to beat UVA by 15 points despite the Cavalier's Emil Heineking and Ryan Collin going 1-2.  UVA, FSU, and Duke only finish 3 points apart (71-74)!!  Florida State handled the women's race comfortably putting 3 in the top 6 and 5 in the top 13.  Duke won the battle for second over Virginia 71-84, led by Catherine White (runner up).

Mountain West | Men's Results | Women's Results - UNM Coach Joe Franklin brings home 2 trophies to Albuquerque as #19 New Mexico upsets #7 BYU on the men's side 29-34!!  Jacob Kirwa led the Lobos as the individual champ over BYU's Miles Batty and was followed by 4 of his teammates in the top ten.  The UNM women put 5 in the top 8 to beat BYU 24-45.  The Cougar's Cecily Lemmon came away with a 23 second victory for the individual title.

Pac-10 | Men's Results | Women's Results - The Stanford men win the conference with an unofficial score of 27-45 over the Oregon Ducks.  Chris Derrick continues a great season by winning the race over ASU's Brandon Bethke.  Nicole Blood is the surprise with taking the individual title over all the Washington Women and her own teammates, Hasay and Kosinski.  The Huskies take a narrow victory over the Ducks 35-42 showing that they are human and letting us know the NCAA will be a battle!!!

Heps (Ivy League) | Results - Columbia gets their title!  The men squeak out a 1 point win over Princeton to end the streak and win only their 3rd Heps title in the school's XC history.  Dan Chenoweth takes the individual title with a 10 second win over Brown's Christian Escareno.  On the women's side, the Princeton women show they are ready for bigger things by sweeping the field with a perfect 15 points.  All-American Liz Costello dominates winning by nearly 20 seconds.

MAAC Results - Biggest surprise here....Loyola's Dan McDevitt breaks up Iona's perfect score as the Gaels score 17 points to win the title.  Ryan Sheridan leads the way with the win on the individual side.  Iona women are also victorious 27-56 over Marist, led by the championship run by Anna Holm-Jorgensen.

I saw him at State and he completely dominated. Wonder what would have happened if he didnt go out so fast (4:30 1st mile) I also heard, according to a DyeState article, that Verzbicas' achilles was hindering him from training the week of State. Who knows what he can do if he is 100 percent and paces himself.

NYRR KNICKERBOCKER 60K 11/21/09
created August 7 at 10:41am by Michelle Johnstone
Michelle,

The 60K is close to the NYC Marathon that you just ran, so you need to make certain that you have recovered. If you are really determined to run the 60K, go extra slow for the first half of the race. I would suggest that you take your average marathon pace and run at least 60 seconds slower per mile -- maybe even 90 seconds slower.
