Golden Stripes | Event Details

The adidas Golden Stripes Tour is the premier high school track and field series in the country. It consists of the adidas Meet of Champions, Kansas Relays, Golden South Classic and Dream Mile & 100 (adidas Grand Prix). This series has transformed the concept of fast and served as the platform for more than 30,000 athletes to make history since 2010. From Southern California to the Great Plains, from the Everglades to the Big Apple, aGS has inspired athletes to reach heights never thought possible.

Athletes hoping to qualify for the Dream 100 or Dream Mile can in one of two ways:

Win one of the three Golden Stripes qualifiers:

  • March 22nd, 2014 - adidas Meet of Champions* (Los Angeles, CA)
  • April 17-19, 2014 - Kansas Relays (Lawrence, KS)
  • May 25th, 2014 - Golden South Classic (Orlando, FL)

OR

Receive an at-large bid based on PR’s, US Rankings**, scope of work (100-400 and 800-3200) and quality of win (who have you beat, who have you been beat by and how have you done against national caliber competition)

With only nine spots in the Dream 100 and 14 in the Dream Mile, space is limited. So mark your calendars, lace up your spikes and dream big.

*designates mile only competition

**100m NWI times will not be considered for national ranking

Watch List

The Eastbay Dream Mile/100 Watch List is a list of athletes handpicked by adidas and Flotrack. These athletes in our opinion have the best chance on paper of potentially making the Dream Mile or Dream 100 at the adidas Grand Prix (http://www.diamondleague-newyork.com/). However, we all know races aren’t run on paper. This list is a starting point and throughout the season it will change and updated as athletes run fast, get hurt or exceed expectation. Only wind legal times are accepted in the 100 and all 1500m and 1600m times were converted to mile times using a standard algorithm. The athletes highlighted, with a Golden Stripes logo next to their name, have officially been invited to the Dream Mile/100.

We have done our best to pinpoint the best athletes in the country, but we can’t be everywhere and no matter how hard we try, people still fly under the radar. So if you have someone we have missed, place a comment below. We will get back to you as soon as possible. It's all about trying to set up the best scenario for records to go down.

The Dream 100 and Dream Mile are all about putting the best athletes, on the best track, against the best competition in an attempt to make history. Held in conjuction with the adidas Grand Prix Diamond League Meet, the Dream 100 will consist of nine sprinters in the starting blocks while the Dream Mile will have fourteen milers toe the line.
