JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Indiana track and field got two athletes through to the NCAA Championships in Des Moines, Iowa on day one at the NCAA East Preliminary Round. Sophomore Kyla Buckley advanced in the shot put and Zach Mayhew advanced in the 10,000m, it is the first NCAA berth for both Hoosiers. IU also saw three runners advance to quarterfinals later this weekend on day one.
Buckley took 11th in the shot put to advance to the NCAA finals in Des Moines, launching a heave of 15.84m (51-11.75).
