2013 NCAA DIVISION I INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

Section 2.4 – Selection Criteria

Standards. There are no qualifying standards for the championships season. There will be a track indexing standard to delineate the different indexing among flat, undersized, banked and oversized. Altitude conversions, as well as other conversions, are based on a formula and will be done as results are submitted (to TFRRS).

Qualifying Criteria. Qualification to the championships is based on descending-order list for the season andadhering to the qualifying regulations/criteria published on NCAA.org. For each individual event contested, thetop 16 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 12 declared relay teams will be accepted into the competition. The stated maximums are absolute and will not be extended as a result of ties.

Ties. See 2013 Indoor Track & Field Technical Manual (technical manual to be released in mid-December. The rules concerning ties will be similar to what has been used to determine the outdoor preliminary round fields).
