The Boston Globe was among the first media outlets to report a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings was in custody. Massachusetts State Police faced off with two suspects called after an MIT police officer was shot and killed. Police ended up in Watertown after chasing a carjacking. 

The New York Times provides a local resident's account of the standoff that included police yelling about explosives. A Youtube video also surfaced shortly after. 



The Boston Police Scanner identified the suspects as Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev (No. 1) and Tamerlan Tsarnaev (No. 2.) Tripathi is also the missing student from Brown. 

"One more suspect at large," State Police said. "Two accounted for should be revised. One accounted for. One at large." A 20-block perimeter has been set up to try and find the second suspect.

[9:30am ET] One of the suspects, Tamerla Tsarnaev, was killed early Friday morning after leading police on a chase after shooting a MIT campus police officer.

[9:40am ET] Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts has told residents of Boston to "stay indoors with their doors locked."
