CLEMSON, SC - Clemson red-shirt junior Brianna Rollins announced Friday she will forgo her final outdoor track & field season and turn professional. The Miami, FL native signed with Stellar Athletics, an agency based out of the United Kingdom, and will run for Nike. Stellar recently signed NCAA 100-meter dash champion Charles Silmon of TCU, and also represents U.S. 100-meter junior record-holder and former Florida football standout Jeff Demps.

"Running for Clemson these last four years has been amazing," Rollins said. "I've grown and learned a lot. I had ups and downs earlier in my career, but this season was one of the greatest I have ever had. It has truly been a blessing. I will finish my degree requirements in the fall after completing a six-hour internship."

Rollins will complete her collegiate career as a three-time NCAA Champion, having won the indoor 60 hurdles in 2011 and 2013, and the 100 hurdles last week in Eugene, OR. She holds the NCAA record in both events, running 7.78 in the 60 hurdles in January and 12.39 in the 100 hurdles final last week at Oregon's Hayward Field. 

On Wednesday, she was named the National Track Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. On Friday, she was named ACC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year, giving her a sweep of conference honors in 2013.

She is one of only two females in Clemson track & field history to win three NCAA Championships, joining Tina Krebs (1983-87). Rollins was a seven-time first-team All-American, second-most in Clemson history for a Tiger female.

Rollins' first professional competition will be the USA Outdoor Championships, held next week in Des Moines, IA. The current No. 1 ranked hurdler in the world, Rollins will compete against the best professionals and collegiate athletes from the U.S. for a coveted spot on the World Championship team, awarded to the top three finishers who meet the "A" qualification standard. The World Championships are scheduled for August in Moscow, Russia.

"My expectation next week is to focus on what I have been doing, and make the World Championship team," she said. "I'm very excited and look forward to the next chapter in my life."
