Webb Watch: Finishes 10th at American Milers Club Meet, Just Misses USA Standard
After running the international 1,500-meter race at the Prefontaine Classic and finishing second to last, Alan Webb is sticking to the 5,000-meter distance and tuning-up with some 1,500-meter work. On Saturday night, Webb finished in 3:42.8 in the 1,500-meter run for 10th place at the American Milers Club meet.

Webb just missed the USA "A" standard of 3:41.20. Too little, too late for the American mile record holder? The preliminary round of the 1,500-meter run is on Thursday. He plans on continuing his ventures into the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter distances later on in the summer.

Seven other runners ran under the standard with Rob Finnerty winning in 3:38.34.

Note: Genevieve LaCaze took the victory on the women's 1,500-meter side with her 4:10.29. The time was a two-second personal best from her 4:12.48, which was run almost a year ago at the same meet.
