What a week it has been for Farah. Last week, he traded in his spikes for soccer cleats to participate in a charity match hosted by Arsenal to support World Refugee Day. He was at Wimledon on Thursday and honored by Prince Charles to recieve his CBE at Buckingham Palace. 

Awaiting for him at the startline at Alexander Stadium were the world's two fastest 5,000-meter runners of the year in Yenew Alamirew and Hagos Gebriwhet. Through the first 4,600-meters, a tight pack of runners headed into the bell lap led by Farah. 

Into the last 200, Alamirew was on Farah's shoulders before the Oregon Project athlete pulled away in the final 10-meters. A signature "Mobot" stance was thrown up before the finish line as Farah secured his second victory since the loss at the Prefontaine Classic. 

In his post-race interview, Farah admits he would have liked to have run faster, but the conditions were not to his favor. He will continue to race on the Diamond League circuit before rejoining his teammates and coach Alberto Salazar. 

Farah said he does not need to run any faster before the IAAF World Championship in Moscow, but if the field is stacked and he ends up in the 5,000-meter race in Monaco, one has to wonder if attacking his national record of 12:53.11 would be on his mind.
