Alexa Efraimson has reportedly decided to forego any remaining high school and NCAA eligibility to continue her running career as a professional. First reported by DyeStat.

Efraimson finished sixth in the 1,500-meter final at the IAAF World Junior Championships on July 27. 

"Alexa is taking her time to make this decision. She wants to race at a level where she can grow as a competitor and person," Hickey told ESPN.com in June. "The NCAA model is great for most people and the professional model is for the few who can function in that environment. She will be attending college with either decision."

Update at 10:55 p.m. CT - Efraimson told DyeStat that she will be competing for Nike and remaining with coach Mike Hickey. She was the 2013 Nike Cross-Country National Champion. 

She will attend college and go through the regular admissions process much like Mary Cain did with her decision to attend the University of Portland. 

No date is set for her professional debut. 

Efraimson signed with Flynn Sports Management.
