Fraser-Pryce, Campbell-Brown to Run Shanghai Diamond League

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Veronica Campbell-Brown finish at the 2014 World Indoor Championships.

Olympic champions Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Veronica Campbell Brown will face off at the 2015 Shanghai Diamond League meeting on May 17, according to IAAF.org.

Fraser-Pryce, an Olympic gold medalist and three-time world champion and Campbell-Brown, a three-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time World Champion will both toe the 100m line in Shanghai. Blessing Okagbare, silver medalist in the long jump and bronze medalist in the 200m at the 2013 World Championships, will also be a major contender at the Diamond League meeting.

Fraser-Pryce most recently ran a 400m at the UWI Invitational in Mona, Jamaica March 21, and clocked a 7.13 in the 60m at the Queens Grace Jackson Track Meet in Kingston Jan. 31.

Campbell-Brown contributed to two impressive finishes as a member of a 4x400m squad that ran 3:38 and a 4x100m team that clocked 43.62 at the Hurricane Invitational. She also ran a season’s best mark of 53.53 in the 400m at the UCF Invitational.

Okagbare has yet to open up in 2015, but is returning from a 2014 season that saw a personal best in the 200m at the Pre Classic, where she ran 22.23 for a runner-up finish. The Nigerian standout swept both the long jump and 200m at the Shanghai meeting last year.
