Penn Relays Day 2: Top 10 Moments


1. The Oregon Ducks repeated as DMR champions. The team of John Gregorek, Marcus Chambers, Niki Franzmair and Edward Cheserek held off the charging Villanova team, anchored by Jordan Williamsz, to win in 9:33.86. WATCH RACE HERE.
2. After finishing second last night to Villanova in the DMR, the Stanford Cardinal team of Rebecca Mehra, Jessica Tonn, Elise Cranny and Claudia Saunders got redemption in the 4x1500m, winning in 17:27.54. WATCH RACE HERE.


3. The Texas A&M team of Jennifer Madu, Ashton Purvis, Kamaria Brown, and Aaliyah Brown avenged in-state rivals, the Texas Longhorns, to take the Championship of America 4x100m relay, their seventh-straight wheel in this event. WATCH RACE HERE.


4. Drew Hunter of Loudoun Valley (VA) made history Saturday evening when he won the Boy's Championship Mile in 4:07.15. Hunter joins World Medalist Matthew Centrowitz as the second high school boy to ever win the 3000m (which Hunter won in 2014) and Mile at the Penn Relays. WATCH RACE HERE.


5. KICK OF THE WEEK ALERT! The Oregon ladies took home the victory in the Sprint Medley Relay in epic fashion. After four flawless legs by Jasmine Todd, Jenna Prandini, Raevyn Rogers, it was Annie Leblanc's turn to bring it home. Leblanc stunned the crowd by reeling in NCAA 800m champ Natoya Goule of Clemson to split 2:03.80 and give Oregon their first wheel of the weekend. WATCH RACE HERE.


6. Future Stanford Cardinal Alex Ostberg of Darien (CT) won the Boy's Championship 3000m in 8:23.95, closing in 2:09 for his last 800m. WATCH RACE HERE.


7. The heats of the high school boy's 4x100m (large schools) went down, and tomorrow's final is shaping up to be one of the most historical races in Penn Relays history. Can Calabar High School 39-seconds in the final? Take a look at the top four teams from the prelims:



8. The team from AlterG, Inc. won the Corporate DMR for the third-straight year at the Penn Relays. WATCH RACE HERE.


9. The men from Penn State won the Sprint Medley Relay after losing to LSU (out of the slow heat) in 2014. WATCH RACE HERE.



10. The girls from Edwin Allen (Jamaica) dominated the Championship of America 4x100m and 4x400m races today. They grabbed the 4x100 title in 45.40 and 4x400 in 3:40.41.
