Well, Wednesday at the IAAF World Challenge in Beijing he ran that, a blazing 9.95, a new personal best, and his first time under ten seconds. Bracy's mark is the 5th fastest time in the world this year. Here is what he had to say after the race.
"The race was well put together. I was able to hold form at the end and stay relaxed to get to the front. To finally go sub 10 was amazing man. Words can't explain it! It was long overdue but I'm glad I got it done!"
Bracy, who runs for adidas, went on to say this meet was a huge confidence boost.
"This just lets me know that I am in good shape at this point in the season still with USAs to come. Next up is the Rome Diamond League then on to New York Diamond League. The goal is to continuously get better and to make USA Team B."
Four years ago as a high school junior at Boone High School in Orlando, Bracy was preparing to run in the first ever Dream 100, which he eventually won in 10.47. He won five state titles as a Brave, including three in the 100 and two in the 200 meter dash.
Congrats to Marvin on this milestone. This is just the beginning of many more!
