18-year-old marathoner Alana Hadley will be competing with the elites at the NYC Marathon on November 1st, she has announced on her blog and via Twitter.


Hadley made waves at the age of 16 when she qualified for the Olympic Trials in the marathon with a time of 2:41:55. She became the youngest person to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Trials in the marathon since 1984 when Cathy O'Brien accomplished the same feat at the same age.

In preparation for the NYC Marathon, Alana plans on running two half marathons and she will be rekindling her video diary series on FloTrack, "From The Road Less Traveled."
