In an unprecedented move, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced sweeping changes to the upcoming Super Bowl 50 competition. Citing the rise of referee controversies in the National Football League, Goodell decided to award the Lombardi trophy to the winning team of a track and field dual meet LIVE on FloTrack in San Francisco, California.
With the rise of controversial referee decisions over the past few years, myself and the owners held an emergency vote to approve the switch to a track dual meet instead of a football game this year. This will hopefully allow the athletes to test their speed, endurance, and strength without the interference of referee errors - just man v. the clock/tape measure.- Goodell said at Saturday's press conference
