Bronze medalist Clayton Murphy got to celebrate his Olympic medal by throwing the first pitch at the Cleveland Indians' game on Sunday, September 4.

The former Akron Zip and New Paris, Ohio, native finished third in the 800m final with a new personal best of 1:42.93 to finish behind world record-holder David Rudisha and Taoufik Makhloufi.

The Cleveland Indians tweeted a photo of Murphy from Progressive Field holding the ball and his Olympic medal.

1500m Olympic gold medalist Matt Centrowitz was also given the opportunity to throw the first pitch at Monday's Baltimore Orioles game, but missed his chance when he ran into severe traffic around Camden Yards.

Centrowitz was still recognized between innings of the game with his medal.
