What Did It Take To Qualify For NCAA Prelims Over The Years?
We are now in our eighth year of the NCAA's two regional system. Here is how fast one had to run to qualify for the distance events ranging from the 800 to the 10K.
Since the NCAA moved to a two-regional system in 2010, the qualification process for the NCAA Championships has consisted of the top 48 individuals and top 24 relays in the West and East regions competing for 12 qualifying spots during the last weekend of May.
We are now in its eighth year of this system. Here is a year-by-year look at the times needed to qualify for the NCAA meet in the distance events, ranging from the 800 to the 10K.
GREEN = Fastest time in 8-year history
RED = Slowest time in 8-year history
