Anavia Battle is heading to Ohio State in the fall after wrapping up her high school career with her first-ever MHSAA state championship in the 100m last month. The 2017 graduate of Wayne Memorial High School in Wayne, Michigan, ran 11.95 seconds (-1.5) to take the win. She also finished runner-up in the 200m with a time of 24.27 seconds. Over the summer, she runs for Intensity Track Club.

Breakdown: In two weeks, Battle has a chance to win both the 100m and 200m dashes at the AAU Junior Olympic Championships in Ypsilanti, MI. The Ohio State signee currently has the top-seeded time in both events with her 11.64 and her 23.90 from the AAU Region 12 qualifier meet earlier this month.
