JR Michael Williams (8:13 3K; 14:04 5K; 29:09 10K; 30th at '16 NCAA XC)
SR Sam Levora (8:08 3K; 14:01 5K; 29:22 10K; 115th at '16 NCAA XC)
JR Nathan Tadesse (8:10 3K; 113th at '16 NCAA XC)
JR Chandler Teigen (3:47 1500; 8:11 3K; 145th at '16 NCAA XC)
FR Matthew Watkins (4:11 1600; 8:48 3200; 29th at '16 FL XC)
Matthew Watkins via Mill Creek, WA (4:11 1600; 8:48 3200; 29th at '16 FL XC)
Amir Ado via Spokane, WA (9:14 3200; 16th at '16 FL XC)
Zach Stallings via Reno, NV (1:51 800; 4:10 1600)
The Washington State Cougars return six of their top seven from their 14th-place NCAA finish last year. The team will be led by returning All-American Michael Williams along with a core group of veteran cross country runners that includes upperclassmen Sam Levora, Nathan Tadesse, and Chadler Teigen, all of whom bring invaluable experience to November's championship.
The Cougars also welcome a strong freshman class featuring two Foot Locker finalists in Matthew Watkins and Amit Ado. Notably, Watkins had an impressive track campaign this past spring, clocking 8:48 for the 3200. Look for Watkins to sneak into the top five as a true freshman.
With the combination of an All-American leader, veteran depth, and incoming Foot Locker finalists, the Cougars should be a strong top-20 program this fall.
