A side-by-side comparison of Dennis Kimetto's world record time of 2:02:57 in the Berlin Marathon on Sunday and the previous standard of 2:03:23 run by Wilson Kipsang reveals different styles in making history.

While Kipsang ran steadier paces and eased his way to a world record, Kimetto made an all-out assult on the clock late in the race, dropping an unreal 14:09 split with seven kilometers remaining in the race.

Here is a closer look at how both men ran Berlin.
