Oregon and Texas 4x4 Battle at the NCAA Indoor ChampionshipsThe 4x4 is easily one of the most exciting races at a track and field meet. This was especially true at the 2014 NCAA Indoor Championships, when Texas and Oregon were fighting for the team title. In a tight race that came down to the last leg, the queens of 400m, Texas’ Ashley Spencer and Oregon’s Phyllis Francis, fought until the final stretch. When it looked as if Spencer had the race locked in for the Longhorns, Francis leaned as if her life depended on it, securing the Ducks with a new collegiate record (3:27.40) and their fifth straight NCAA Indoor Championship.
