Brenda Martinez
and Duane Solomon are coming to Portland.

The 2013 World Championship Bronze Medalist over 800m, the first American woman to medal in the 800m at the world championships, will be racing the 1500m at the FloTrack Throwdown.

Martinez finished runner-up at the USATF Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 800m in 1:59.71, earning a spot on the U.S. team at the world championships. Her 800m personal best of 1:57.91 (No. 12 USA all-time) came from the 2013 World Championship finals where she placed third behind 2015 World No. 1 Eunice Sum and Mariya Savinova.

Martinez holds a personal-best mark of 4:00.94 in the 1500m.

Duane Solomon finished fourth in the 800m at the 2012 London Olympics and sixth at the 2013 World Championships. His 1:42.82 PB is the No. 2 USA all-time mark for the two-lapper. He won U.S. titles in 2013 and 2014 before finishing eighth this year after a blistering 49.7 opening 400m.

Solomon will race the 800m against previously announced athletes Andrew Wheating and Cas Loxsom.
