SMITH ROLLS TO SOLO RECORD IN 5000M

DII Interview-Jane Larson


Runners can get themselves into really interesting situations and Seattle Pacific’s Jane Larson is no different. “Crazy things always seem to happen to me when I run, [but] maybe I put myself in these situations” she exclaims.  According to Larson, “I happen to injure myself a lot on runs. USATF announces new Board of Directors


INDIANAPOLIS - USA Track & Field on Wednesday announced its newly constituted Board of Directors. In the limited formal journalism education I have (a few classes in high school), I was always taught that the first few sentences in an article should answer the important questions everyone could have given the headline....the Who, What, Where, When, Why and How. DII Weekend Review-Feb.13-15.


This Valentine’s Day, many runners spent it with their one true love, track and field. There was plenty action (watch it here on flotrack!) with some amazing qualifying performances. I have tried to cover as many meets as possible. If there is anything I have missed, and I am sure that I did, go ahead and leave a comment with the times. This weekend was full of excitement in the running world, ranging from USA Cross Country Championships to the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.  I will highlight some of the DII performances, but as usual if there is any performance I have missed, please comment. Project 30 Task Force calls for revamping USATF High Performance programs


INDIANAPOLIS - The Project 30 Task Force on Monday, February 9, issued its final report, analyzing Team USAPerformance in Beijing and charting a course for programmatic change to maximize Team USA performance in Olympic and World Championship competition. Central to its recommendations is the hiring of a General Manager to oversee all matters pertaining to athlete development and performance, including High Performance, Elite Athlete Services, Team USA Management, Team USA Staff management, National Championships, Sport Science application and Sports Medicine, Youth Development and Anti-Doping programs. Nicole Schappert finished the mile last weekend at the Penn State National Invitational sandwiched between her two teammates. Each running better than 4:44 in the mile. Ryan Hall to run at Half Marathon Against Haile G


Feb 4, 2009 Reported by: Bart van Aalst Dutch websites announced Ryan Hall to race Haile Gebrselassie in The Hague, on the same course where Wanjiru set the 1/2 marathon world record.  Race is on March 14, 2009. DII Weekend Review-Ruben Sanca Interview


UMass-Lowell’s Ruben Sanca has come a long way. He clocked a 14:05.46 on January 24, coming in third at Boston’s Terrier Invitational.  This time makes him one of the top contenders in the men’s indoor 5k for DII Nationals.
