Mary and the NYRR have done quite a bit for our sport. I was in Cali this weekend talking to Jorge Torres and he mentioned how Mary and the NYRR donate funds to their group in Boulder and how appreciative he was for their help. Athletes need coaches but coaches need to get paid and a lot of the times our runners have a hard time surviving it is hard for the coaches. 2008 5th Ave Mile


Austin, Tx: Ryan, Madhu and I (Mark) will be on site in NYC for the 2008 5th Ave Mile. Flotrack will be bring you race coverage and interviews from gthe two great fields the NYRR have put together. The men's field has Bernard Lagat and Nick Willis, who are two of the best milers in the world along with 800 meter runner Nick Symmonds.   There is no doubt 2008 is a big year for Track and Field. The increased attention Track and Field will receive this year is due to the appeal the Olympics have to the Average Joe.
