Kara Goucher is not as good as Ryan Hall. But she is pretty.

I'm watching the Boston Marathon, start to finish. Kara Goucher is doing a fantastic job. Ran a smart race all the way through, but never assumed the lead. I figured her last 5K would be her big move. Good guess! Then, with less than a mile to the finish she rips her gloves off and throws them away. I'm cheering now. I guess it's time!! The marathon, in any city, is always a test of human endurance, a test of character and constitution. In the end all three women were simply looking for the strength to lift their legs and take another step. Don't get me wrong. They were still moving like a fast freight coming into Grand Central! Tune was less than a yard from winning her 2nd in a row and just couldn't find the strength. Goucher, about 8 seconds back, could have just backed it down. There was nobody else there. But she didn't. There are no losers in the marathon, ever.

What about the racewalk? It is a USATF sanctioned event, correct?
