Fellow Canadian, Jeff Scull won the race in 8:04.95. Eric is now spending time training at altitude in Flagstaff, Arizona with Steve Osaduik, Simon Whitfield and a few other top level Canadian athletes. Eric Kiauka said, "I was very pleased with the race; I thought I was in good shape and the goal was to run right around 8:05. After 2km the pace fell off a little, so I decided to take the lead. I pushed hard the last 2 laps, but couldn't shake Jeff Skull who just caught me at the line. I think sub 8 is a real possibility this year, but I'm excited because that race shows a sub 8:32 steeple is in the cards if everything goes well, which is the B standard for the Olympics."
