Coach Dick Weis was born in Montreal, Canada but he grew up in the Bronx rooting for the Yankees and graduated from Kings College in New York. Weis started coaching at the high school level in New York where he first coached at Albertus Mangus High School in Bardonia, where his team was ranked the best in the nation. Weis then coached at Monroe-Woodbury High School in Central Valley, N.Y, where he won two state titles. Missouri gave Coach Weis his fist college job in 1979 when they hired him to be the head track coach. Weis guided 26 Missouri Tigers to All-American honors. 1n 1982 Weis became the head men?s and women?s track coach. Since 1983 Weis has coached Oklahoma State athletes to 53 All-American awards, 39 in track and 14 in cross, four NCAA champs, one world record, and two Olympians. Christine McMiken of New Zealand set the world record for the three-mile run while training under Coach Weis. Today Coach Weis heads the men?s Track team.
