Jason Drake is in his fourth year as Head Coach of both the men's and women's cross country teams and the assistant coach for track and field. Drake coached Haley Paul to a 14th place finish last year at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.

Coach Drake was a former distance runner himself and All-American at the University of Colorado. After graduating from the University of Colorado he became the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Coach Mark Wetmore. He also started the Colorado Elite Track Club a nonprofit club for post-collegiate female middle and long distance runners. Among the professional members of the club are several outstanding runners: Shayne Culpepper (2000 Olympic team 1500m and two World Cross Country teams), Janet Trujillo (2002 World Cross Country team and fifth place in 2001 USATF 1500m Outdoor Championships), and Sarah Toland (2002 World Cross Country team).

Jason Drake was born May 30, 1971 in Aberdeen, South Dakota; Drake ran and attended high school at Campbell County in Gillette, Wyoming.
