A new begining

So here we are, Flotrackr. I didn't even know this existed.
I have no idea what to write, so this will probably not be that interesting.

I guess, since it's Januray, it's a time for new beginings and resolutions. 2007 was a fairly tough year for me. It started off well, as I dominated Chad and Clint at the New Year's 4 miler in NYC. I then followed it up with a 40 second PR in the half marathon. However, after that, there was nothing too spectacular. I was ok with that, because everything was about November. That was my time to shine.

I was hitting some great workouts. 5 minute pace almost felt natural on tempos and workouts. I wasn't even checking my splits. I was just running and clicking off 5 minute pace. But then, the wheels fell off. I finished a track workout and had to walk home halfway through the cool-down. I literally had a pain in my butt. What went from a few days off ended up being the enitre month of September. October was a scramble to put together any semblance of a marathon. I was going to run the Trials. It has been my only goal for so long. So, I plodded along, but actually ran very respectable. Maybe I should write a book- "4 weeks to a 2:20 marathon."

So now, I am left with a sour taste in my mouth. The fire is burning hot, something I had questioned a little bit. But it's there, alright. 2008, the year for turning points. I haven't raced a marathon in almost two years now and I hate seeing that 2:15. Don't get me wrong, it's mighty respectable, but it's not what I want. So here's to consistent training, smart training, and a 2:12 by the end of the year!
