There And Back Again: Coping with Illness and the Return From

Track season, of my senior year in high school, was the pits. I didn't know until two weeks before the season ended that I was anemic. I didn't know why my legs were heavy, why I couldn't breathe when I was running, why it took me a half an hour to get out of bed once I had woken up in the morning. I attributed to laziness, to senioritis (which I really didn't have), and the spring show which started after the musical and ran concurrently with track. I suppose left untended long enough I could have expired from it.… more »

just to see all the things you knew I'd written about you - oh so many illustrations -" I can't get it out of my head! Often I will sing this to myself on a walk in town. Thus making the video, which I just watched for the first time, vaguely ironic. Suedehead by Morrissey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AvuweztG4Q more »

A Working American

A working American sits, A working American stands, A working American lives, In the Promise lands. A working American taps, A working American jigs. My God, I've seen the heights, Upon which the working American stands. I prayed for guidance, just the other day- A male walked towards me and said - Class is in the library, come - this way. I looked upon the manna, Turned about in my life's waters The velvet all around me - Relaxed on the day's orders. This working American breathes, This working American stands, This working American is in tune With the Promise… more »

I'm leavin'! We got ourselves detripled, and at some point this week I'm hopefully going to be moving down the hall to a fellow theatre major's abode. Another life lesson - McCain masks are at wal mart for 10 dollars. Buy them and ruin his campaign. I told my mother I got a mask and she said "Remember that you're 18 now." Yeeeah. That's her advice. Gotta love it. I'm sure there are other things tht I could say, but I'm drawing a blank, so I'm poofing! See yaaaa! more »

Hidden Treasures

In the midst of my final packing for college I came upon a hidden treasure. In a fit of inspiration I decided to use my sports bag for my shoes and whatnot... However this thing has so many pockets that I didn't even hit them all until tonight when I needed a last minute place to stuff some face wash... In the pocket I had forgotten existed were four, absolutely disgustingly foul socks. My mother said to just throw them out, and so I did. Until, that is, I realized when they were from. The last time I used that… more »

I finally got my pictures developed from the summer of 2006, when I did a bunch of tennis work.... And I now have the picture of a particular piece of artwork that I made... with me in it. Yep. Once upon a time I made a dress. Let's just day I'm glad Mrs. Shaffer didn't have me try that one on! And in thinking of that project a ridiculous memory resurfaced in my mind.... It was my junior year and fall play was already working on getting costumes ready. And so one day, Mrs. Shaeffer hands me the dress that… more »

Phoenix Rising

They say pain is "weakness leaving the body", but what if the pain is in your heart? Are you all the more stronger when your heart breaks? Or is it the coldness that follows that is the true strength? Is it the anger? The apathy? The righteousness? The cold blooded resolve to pick up the pieces, no matter how many there are, and become whole again - to teach the breaker a lesson. That no one. No. One. Has the authority to destroy you. To destroy anybody, really. You are the phoenix, always rising again. To choose to be a… more »

So this summer has been an interesting one already. I finally got my own YouTube account and have basically been doing skits these past couple of days.? I have an obscenely long user name. The more skits I post where I'm the Phantom of the Opera seem to up my hits.... It was terrible, I was standing on my porch in this sweater and sweatpants with obnoxious eyebrows, a mustache, and a goatee pencilled onto my face with an eye pencil, and I was doing a Monty Python esque skit.? It's not uploaded yet, but I like it.? I was… more »
