In the midst of my final packing for college I came upon a hidden treasure. In a fit of inspiration I decided to use my sports bag for my shoes and whatnot... However this thing has so many pockets that I didn't even hit them all until tonight when I needed a last minute place to stuff some face wash... In the pocket I had forgotten existed were four, absolutely disgustingly foul socks. My mother said to just throw them out, and so I did. Until, that is, I realized when they were from. The last time I used that bag was in 2006, during the Ernesto filled Big Valley Invitational. My first XC meet ever, where it was so cold and miserably rainy that I never got the incredible fear of racing that I had during track season. It was sooo cold that I couldn't even focus on what was going to happen, and so, from then on, I never had a problem racing during the XC season. And so don't you know I pulled one of those socks out of the trash and labeled it. So that I could have a keepsake from the first meet of the best experience in my life.

And I mean that, I really do. XC was the best, and I'll always love and cherish the memories I gained, as well as the absolutely amazing group of friends. So good luck everybody! May the Lewisburg Green Dragons have a fantastic and fiery season!
