Track and Field Blogs - Tyson Jex

When the season first started, I couldn't wait for it to be over so that I could start doing some short distance stuff for track. I have always loved running cross country but last year really kind of hurt how i felt about it. But this season has really changed how I feel about running and cross country in general. With the higher mileage and harder workouts, I have come to understand that I need to push myself all of the time or else I won't be that good. After every race I have felt stronger but then we had the conference meet, which didn't really turn out that good because I could never get comfortable at all. I just didn't have that gear that you need to stay with certain people. The team took a dissappointing 7th which really discouraged me and most of my teammates. I'm really excited to run my first 10k in about a week and a half. I know that its going to hurt that I need to push through the pain. Looking to run under 35 which I think is a reasonable time, but I need to make sure I never let my guard down.
