Track and Field Blogs - Tyson Jex

Regionals was my first ever 10k and well it didn't go at all how i had planned it in my mind. I knew that it was going to be really fast but after hit my 1st K at 3:00 I think I kind of freaked myself out. I later found out that I had what are called the "freshman blues" which just meant that my body was breaking down after all those miles. I know that track is going to be alot better because I am use to the high mileage and I will get a lot more speed work in. I really don't know what i'm doing in track yet but it will probably involve the steeple this year. Coach is going to want us to double alot at meets which will be good for me because i'm still a little week on the whole mental toughness thing. I just started to train this week, it has been pretty rough because I'm not in New Mexico and I forgot how many hills Morgan has. But its making me tougher and I know that i'm going to have a great track season, stay tuned for more to come.
