Track and Field Blogs - Tyson Jex

This weekend I ran my first indoor track meet at Texas Tech and it was alot different than I thought it was goign to go. I had barely put in any training in the past week because I have been dealing with tendinitis in my knees. I was scheduled to run the mile and the 3k, and wasn't sure how my body was going to react to all the speed. I did to a tempo run on Thursday and was still sore from it when meet time came around. After running the mile in 4:57, I was super sore but was even more dissapointed. Coach was telling me that I would just run the first mile in the 3k but when the time came around I ran the whole race and felt alot stronger than I thought I was going to be. I could have caught a kid at the end but didn't make my move in time. I ended up running 10:08, so that concluded a good workout day. Right after my race, I jumped in one of the coldest ice baths I have ever taken and it was amazing. I'm excited for outdoor to start cause I know that I will be healthy and ready to throw down some fast times.
