Track and Field Blogs - Tyson Jex

So I have never been the fastest kid on the team, actually I have never been faster than 3rd on the team. But this weekend, I had a chance or thought that I had a chance to win a small local 5k. I was teasing with my sister all week about what I should do when I cross the finish line in 1st place. But training had been going all that great and I wasn't really sure how fast I was going to be able to go. But at the start of the race, I felt pretty good but I was really impatience and just took off which later would be my downfall. I felt good until this guy caught up to me then I knew I was done for. But the guy just sat behind me and drafted off me and then broke away from me near the end. I ran a pretty decent time for me, especially in the summer but next year I will be back and ready to roll.
