5000 reasons I'm a miler
April 20, 2008
Alright this is a little catch-up blog. It’s been quite a while since I last wrote. The indoor season has come and gone and I've spent time in Seattle, Boston and Florida. Now I’m back in the mountains preparing for the main focus of the year; the outdoor season and the Olympic trials.
My indoor season was fair. I had a lot of minor problems and was unable to put in the string of training needed to race spectacularly. The good thing is that the season's races didn’t really matter and the entire time I stayed… more »

The sun is shining, the birds are singing and I’m cruising down highway 58 with coach Pete Rea. We’ve got Depache Mode cranked to the max as we make our way to Blacksburg, VA for a little 3k rustbuster, a kick off to the indoor season. I arrived in NC just a day ago, and made a quick turn around. After the race we’ll drive on down to Tallahassee: our winter getaway and home base for six weeks.

I’m cursing a burnt hand and pouring rum and eggnog for my brother and his friends. Thomas Morgan is measuring out the ingredients for Allie’s birthday cake (also today). It’s our annual Christmas party; a sign we’re about to conclude the fall racing season and head to our respective homes for a good month and a half. We’ll meet again on January 15th in Tallahassee Florida for a 6-week… more »
'neath the cover of october skies.
October 14, 2007
October is my favorite month, no question. Perhaps it always has been, but I just officially came to the realization like 5 minutes ago. In my mind it’s the fulcrum of the year. Kind of like a Sunday afternoon, where you take a long breath, look back at the fond memories of the past week and prepare for the joys and rigors of the week to come. It has weight. School is in full swing, the leaves are turning, pumpkins are ripe, the summer is done and the holidays are preparing their viscous onslaught.

Well hello flotrack people. This is great. I just want to thank Mark and Madhu for coming down, doing the video and setting this up. I've never been more exited for a year of running and the more involved I can get the better.
I've spent most of my running career injured. Last year was my break through, we finally found a way to stay healthy. I only run about 4 or 5 days a week and spend the rest cross-training. Not particularly enjoyable, but it works. I kind of think of this past year as my… more »
