Disney Half Marathon

My latest race was the Disney Half Marathon a couple weeks ago. It was my first race back since the Olympic Trials and probably my last race before the London Marathon. It would have been nice to run fast to get my confidence up but I did get a lot of positives out of the race even though my time wasn't what I wanted. Before the race Kevin wanted me to run the race alone. Most of my best races have always come when I'm just hanging on to someone else. When I raced on the track and shorter road races that tactic will work more often. Now, trying to become successful at the marathon I have to learn to run on my own at times. I will definitely have to know how to do this at London. There will probably be 10 guys running 2:05 pace then there might not be much after that. My teammate Kyle and I are going to try running around 2:13 so we probably aren't going to have a lot of company. Anyways, at Disney I went out hard and ran alone most of the race. This probably wasn't the best plan if I wanted to run fast but it gave me good practice for London. Even though I'm getting near the end of my running career my coaches are trying to make me learn new things.
