I had a great blog all written up, it talked about training, racing, and Michigan winter. There was a little part about sunsets and maybe a mention of the short story, “How the Water Feels to the Fishes”. It was entertaining, emotional and had just the right amount of humor.

The whole thing was great but I’m sorry to say it is gone. Sometime between writing the perfect closing line and 1am, I woke up with the letters F, T and J embedded into the left side of my face and a screen filled with little i’s. On top of that, there was a little man with steel toed boots doing a jig on my frontal lobe and kicking the inside of my forehead. I wasn’t sure if I was in Tokyo, Detroit or maybe even Alaska at this point. Was it day or night? Was this another hotel room or am I back at home? Where is home? I’m Tyler Durden. “You wake up at Seatac, SFO, LAX. You wake up at O'Hare, Dallas-Fort Worth, BWI. Pacific, mountain, central. Lose an hour, gain an hour. This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time. You wake up at Air Harbor International. If you wake up at a different time, in a different place, could you wake up as a different person?” I sneezed, great now my brains were leaking out of my nose.

After much confusion I realized I’m back in Michigan it’s 10PM and I’ve got a wicked sinus cold. I’ve been traveling and racing for what feels like every other weekend for the past three months and I’m pretty spent. Do I love it? Hell yes. Does it wear you down at times? Hell yes. I thought about starting the perfect blog all over again but knew it would never be the same. I thought about writing a blog about fatigue and travel but I’m just too tired. Since we now blog on deadlines and not content this was all I could come up with. Maybe next month I’ll be creative or have something real to say.
