As my regular readers know, I like to run at Bernheim Forest. What many of you may not know is that normally means a road run. Sometimes a gravel path run, but mostly just on the asphalt roads inside the park. The trails at Bernheim while beautiful are very challenging. Technical footing and some very steep sections are what you expect.

Today, Ashley, Andy, Catie ,Olivia and myself ran a few miles of trails that I had never run on. Our first quarter mile was up a pretty darn big hill. A hill that looked (and felt) like it would never end. Up and up, bend a littlle, then up and up. Finally to the top and along a ridge for a long way. This loop was nearly three miles and overall was pretty tough. As with nearly everything its all relative. The first hill was tough. The second hill was tougher. If the first hill was a hill, the second was a mountain. But like I said, its all relative. I know there are real mountains out there that can make that look like a minor hill.
