Last Thursday evening was the annual Trinity HS Alumni Run. This years version was again a 3K, pitting the Varsity XC Team against the Alumni. It was also the first year that Andy and I were on the same team. Before the race starts there are the usual team cheers. The Varsity doing the usual Hoo-Hah, and the Alumni doing something that is impossible to describe.

I cant help but wonder what this would look like to someone from a foreign country. The smiles and felllowship would stand out, I think. Could the specatators see the bond that this group shares? I'm not sure. At Trinity there is always a lot of talk of brotherhood. When you are there as a student it largely flies over your head and may even strike you as melodramatic. But after graduating and then watching one of your own go through many of the same experiences you come to realize that the term is correct. There is a brotherhood amongst those who have walked (sometimes endured) the same path.

Standing in the same group as Andy became much more meaningful that just a fun cheer. It seems that the circle is more than just a circle.
