The day of the 13th St. Edward Meet started with rain. Not something that any of us were hoping for, but you work with what you are dealt. The one good thing about the rain was that it slighthtly softened the ground, making it just a little easier to get stakes in the ground. The rain continued much of the day, but in the end it was the usual result. THe best MS meet in our area, hands down.

John Haley has pointed out to me several times recently how our little club has now begun to span generations. There were many current HS and College runners that have passed through DCAC working the race. Then in the first race of the day we saw some of our youngest members duel (Gabby and Brianna). Nearly every race saw a DCAC runner at or near the lead.

Hannah Elliott ran a valiant race, fighting back from a 20 meter deficit in the last 200 meters (up a hill) to close the gap to about a second. That took a lot of guts. Our young men who were running their 3rd race in six days. Hats off to you. I hope you get the day off today.
