My Thanksgiving run

Hello again everyone!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Sorry for taking so long to blog again. Well, I have not been up to much other than training. It has been going well, I feel very strong right now in my fitness. I have been training in Washington, but I came home to Dallas for the next six weeks. I’m so happy to be home and spend this time with my family.
I’m actually at my Aunt’s house right now smelling the Thanksgiving food cooking!! Every thanksgiving morning for the past six years my family and I run in the Turkey Trot. The Turkey trot is an annual Thanksgiving fun run and there are almost thirty-thousand people there for the event. There is a three mile run and an eight mile. I’m usually always a proud participate of the three miler, but this year I decided to attempt the eight. For a Heptathlete that is a very long way, the longest I had previously run is about four miles. To my surprise I felt great the whole way and ran it in one hour and twelve minutes, and had fun jamming out to flyleaf on my IPOD( I can just see the distance runners laughing at me now!). I have to admit that I was pretty excited to get through it, and felt a since of accomplishment. That will probably be the last time I will ever run that far, I think I’ll stick to sprint workouts!
Well, other than my marathon run, practices are going well and I’m really looking forward to the season that seems to just be creeping around the corner. I hope everyone’s training is also going well. Happy Thanksgiving!! Don’t eat too much…………………..who am I kidding, haha
