Spring in Chicago

This past weekend a few of my teammates and I took a road trip out to Chicago to run the Shamrock Shuffle 8k. The race, despite the rather winter-like conditions, drew out over 13,000 runners! Quite a big race in my opinion, especially considering that it was 33 degrees, Snowing and had gusts of winds blowing between the buildings in the downtown area. See some pics before for details.

Personally I had a pretty good time, although I would have been a lot happier if the conditions were better and I could have gotten a pr. What can you do? The 4 of us Hansons ended up taking the 5th through 8th positions in the race and won the team competition, and the Hansons Women took 3rd.

Other than the race it was nice to go to Chicago again. I like being in large downtown areas. I also got a chance to catch up with a college teammate of mine, and his family, so that was pretty nice as well. Thanks again for dinner Evan!

Well, that’s all for now. Next up for me will be the Papa John’s 10 miler, so stay tuned.
