Disappointment

Well yesterday was state and I was really looking forward to it for a long time but I didn't get to run in it. Thursday night I developed a bad cough and a soar throat. I thought it was just like a 24 hour cold and I would be okay for state. Friday I started feeling worse and my upper chest started to hurt. That night I felt absolutely terrible and my parents told me that if I don't get better by the morning I am not running. Saturday morning came around and it was even worse. I couldn't really talk and it kinda hurt when I did. I decided I was gonna go anyways even though I knew it would be hard on me to be there knowing I can't race. I told my friends that I couldn't race and they felt bad for me and my team was disappointed too. Everyone from dcac did really good and it was differnt watching everyone when I wasn't racing with them. It was actually a pretty cool experience. Being there watching everyone race but not being able to myself really showed me how much I love racing.

Well today I went to the doctor and he told be that I have bronchitis and that I shouldn't run until thursday. I have to use an inhaler to help break stuff away in my chest. Right now I am coughing a lot (my coughs sound really gross) and my chest is on fire. My throat still hurts but it is off and on.

Well I really hungry for nationals now and I can't wait till I get to start training with dcac.

And if you keep growing, you're gonna look like a T-rex around all those other middle schoolers at State next year :-)

I feel for you and wish we could have had you run at state but like you said, you don't really understand how much you love to compete until you can't so be ready to dominate at nationals
