We had great weather to race this past weekend at Goodyear in the final leg of the McCormick runs before the Matt Kaufmann 5K on August 2nd. On Friday we had a total of 28 runners with Ian Walsh and Landon Davis battling it out for first place with Ian prevailing.

On the girls side Emily Tomei and Anna Mion battled it out through 1.5 miles and then Emily took control of the pace and finished 45 seconds ahead of Anna. 6 of the 7 girls who ran bettered 18:40 over the 2.5 mile course.

On Sunday it was the battle of two runners: Courtney Kovach and Matt Street. It was great to see their commitment in running despite only the two runners.

Both guys and girls are well ahead of where they were from last years teams.

This Saturday, at the Matt Kaufmann Memorial 5K, will set the tone for what looks to be a very competitive battle for our top 7 varsity runners
