Welcome Home

When I walked up to my door late Sunday night there was a "Welcome Home" poster up on the door and the three greatest roommates in the world (which happen to be mine) were up waiting to welcome me back to Boulder. I woke up the next morning (as you read in the last post) pretty early and started getting things done. I have since then met all of my professors (finally) and am, like a mad woman, trying to catch up with school work. I did a chunk while I was away, but I still missed a lot.

My first day back I spent a lot of time filling out wonderful NCAA paperwork I had missed while I was home, got a parking ticket, had to argue with the bus driver to let me ride with a summer pass (b/c I haven't had time to pick up the new one) and was late meeting my tutor because of the bus/car issue.

It was a grand welcome home to the USA

Yesterday went a lot smoother. I finally got to meet the team for stretching circle and practice. While they did a workout I ran a longer easy day. I wasn't beside the girls doing their run but at least I got to see everyone and run the same course. It is so great to be back with my whole team and I'm doing pretty well learning/remembering names of the incoming freshman and walk-ons. I'm so happy to be home. It hasn't been easy and I still feel like I'm way behind but I'll catch up in another few days :)

Running is going so-so. I don't feel tired (which is surprising) but I am sore. The hard run followed by a late night at the Eiffel Tower and an early run and then plane flights didn't add up to the most comfortable past two days of training. I also did my first lift in a VERY long time just yesterday. I'm a hurtin' unit :(. Like everything else though, I'm confident it'll all pass in a week.

I'm so excited it's Cross Season!!!!!!!!

God, I hated cross. I mean, I hated cross like Paris and Britney hate underwear. But the hard base-work always paid off when a new track season rolled around.
