Catching up

Jenny Barringer | Profile
September 14, 2007

I'm not really catching up as much as the whole trip and season is starting to catch up to me. I lifted in the weight room for the first time this Tuesday in probably 3 months. I found myself in a world of pain. You know it's bad when you go hands-first to ease yourself into a chair. I'm still putting in good milage on the running front but it's nothing like the milage on the school front. I'm just going to face it, I'm so far behind. I've got all kinds of reading to catch up with. Only a few actual assignments that I'm working on but the vast majority of my set-backs are in the reading department. I'm a poli sci major (love it) and so a lot of my work is just putting in the time with the text book. Hooray (with a tone of sarcasm).

Yesterday was an easy day and man, did I need it. The worlds best massage guy (rolfer to be exact) lives right here in boulder (he can fix anything) and he happens to have the world's greatest dogs too. Since yesterday was nice and easy I stopped by to grab Matt's dogs for some company. Miss Ellie Brown and Jake are always welcome companions because they are well behaved (can be off-leash), they keep up (and then some), and they're hilarious. I went out to South Boulder Trail to run on the soft path that follows the river. I enjoyed an hour of dogs darting back and forth, flinging water everywhere, discovering tennis balls and chasing rabbits while I pushed through some left-over soreness.

This weekend is a big football game here. CU takes on FSU, a team from my neck of the woods. I really want to go but it depends on the whole homework situation and how much I can catch up in the next two days.

If you're in Boulder, drop in to Buenos Mexican Restaurant. My son used to work there, and Heather is the manager / owner. A true sweetheart. Give her my best.

Sadly, I have learned Jenny won't be blogging anymore. I'll miss it, too.

Hi Jenny....this is Denali's mom. Glad to hear that things are going well for you. How does the season look? How is the team? You have a freshman that I saw run for several years..her name is Aisyln (sp?) from Warwick, ny. Denali is out in Colorado College in Colorado Springs. She is doing great. Hope you have a great season.
